“A sense of humour and fun combined with a love of animals, birds and boats and the environment are the main themes that run through my work. I use recycled materials whenever possible such as steel and tin cans, plastics and wire. Moving to the coast has been a big influence with the abundant wildlife, open spaces, ships and boats coming in and out of the Humber and materials like driftwood to collect.” - Richard Shaw 2007
