Jo Cound

After studying art and photography at Bournville College of Art from 1989 -1993, Jo went on to graduate from Staffordshire University in 1996 with a BA (hons) Design: Photography. Whilst working for commercial photographers and then with Kodak Professional, she had still been exhibiting her own work and finally decided to strike out on her own in 1999, going solo as a photographer and as a visiting lecturer to Birmingham UCE and with Staffordshire University until 2004.

Jo specializes in photographs of the natural world. On countless occasions her images have been mistaken for paintings due to the painterly qualities of her style and the hand-printing of all her own images.

Kew Gardens commissioned her to produce images to celebrate the 150th anniversary of The Water Lily House in 2002 which was followed by the RHS London Flower Show who also showed a selection of images and presented her with a medal.

Jo lives near Crieff and also runs Photography Workshops.
