Mark Coull
A stunning range of high quality, vibrant contemporary abstract paintings, which are produced in very low numbers. With a distinctive style and a cosmopolitan approach, his work is very influential and through his characteristic bold palette and broad, mature style; his dramatic abstract paintings are inspired by a diversity of influences.
Colour, and how it affects our moods has always intrigued him and he endeavors to translate this in his paintings. His artwork is designed to be conversational pieces.
Mark graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee with an Honours Degree in Graphic Design. He also went on to further his education at St Andrews University before starting out on his own.
He exhibits his artwork annually at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Material
Painted with the highest quality Acrylics on premium quality chunky box frame canvas. These canvases are stretched over a softwood frame that is 4cm deep, with staple and tack free sides, giving a professional finish. The sides of the canvases are painted, so there is no need to frame, they are ready for immediate hanging. These stunning and abstract paintings are warm and atmospheric.
Mark’s artwork is very tactile and is produced using a combination of mediums. The finishing touch is a clear casting resin (glass resin) and on embers, a fibre glass resin. On some of the artwork the resin has solid colouring and on others the colour pigment floats inside the resin creating the feeling of liquid.
