Anne Barclay

Born in Dumbarton, Anne studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Dundee College then gained an Honours Degree in Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.

Living in the East Neuk of Fife, in 2001 she helped to establish the group known as the Ovenstone Artists, which has provided six studio spaces for working artists. As a group they take part in the East Neuk Open Studios and the Pittenweem Arts Festival.

Anne has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions in various venues throughout Scotland.

These works are inspired by journeys - thoughts and experiences while travelling - mainly from my home to my studio. They are predominately landscape based and reflect my feelings on the changing conditions of time, weather, seasons etc and echo my perception of the environment in which I live and work. I am continually experimenting with colour and tone and am striving to create space using only these elements. The result of these experiments is contained in my recent works as well as other influences such as music, photography and contemplation.
