Originally from Ontario, Canada, Colleen moved to London in 1996 where she worked as a Graphic & Display Artist. Through making stained glass and silver jewellery, an affinity for working with metals inspired her to enroll at Camberwell College of Arts where she was introduced to the ancient art of Blacksmithing. Whilst studying her degree in Silversmithing and Metalwork, Colleen was featured on BBC’s Home Front.

Based on the strength of her work in her Degree Show in June 2002, she was awarded the Bruce Church Travel Scholarship, which enabled her to take a year to travel to the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia to study and gain inspiration from the indigenous arts there. She then traveled to India where she worked directly with tribal nomadic Rajasthani blacksmiths, The Gaduliya Lohar.

Upon her return to London, Colleen worked on and exhibited her metalwork and for the last two years has been nurturing her most amazing creation yet, her daughter Holly. She has recently located to Highland Perthshire.
