Lara Baxter was born in Penzance in 1967 but has lived in the West Coast of Scotland most of her life. She set up on her own in 1991 making jewellery after working for her mother, already a successful jewellery maker, but due to new family commitments she had to put her jewellery on hold. During her jewellery making ‘wilderness years’, Lara always knew she would go back to it again one day. Largely self taught, Lara learnt the basic skills in her mothers workshop despite it being a very different set up to her own today.

All of Lara’s designs have a botanical feel to them and are strongly influenced by her surroundings, with the movement of the sea and beauty of the west coast.

Kilt pins are designed and handmade to order, by private commission. Please contact Artery for more details on how to do this. Her bridal jewellery can be co-ordinated for all the wedding party, such as bride's tiara, matching necklace, bridesmaid's jewellery and matching kilt pins for the groom and best man.
