Using mixed media, Fife artist Judith incorporates textile techniques such as batik and free machine embroidery to weld together interesting fabrics, threads, handmade paper and found objects to produce unique jewel –like pieces with strong visual appeal.
She has a degree in education specializing in art and design and having now retired from teaching is enjoying the process of creating these rich pieces of applied art.
Judith takes her inspiration from colour, shape, pattern and texture found in natural landforms, exploring and combining these with sources of pattern and design from a variety of world-wide cultures.
