Living Dockside - this piece began in full colour. I wanted to achieve a street scene, with a big boat funnel in the background. Fine, you think….but it was dead, however much more colour I applied. I left it for a while to stew in a corner then brought it out and knew. It HAD to be red. Simple. Now its alive.
