“I get great pleasure from the tactile nature of clay and really enjoy the freedom to develop my ideas and let forms evolve as I’m making them. I’ll often dream up a design but the finished piece may be quite different from the original idea.

I am strongly inspired by nature and textures, so my work could be imprinted with objects such as bark, ferns, seashells and seed-heads. To add colour, the designs are often highlighted with painted oxides. When glazes are used, they can be both matt and glossy, but I tend to use natural, earthy colours.”

This bowl is approx 30cm across.
